Book: Interpreting the Psalms: Issues And Approaches

Book: Interpreting the Psalms: Issues And Approaches

This book is compulsory reading for the Preaching Psalms subject I’m doing later this year. It’s a collection of essays, each by a different academic. I found it a bit of a tough read in places. Most of the essays were useful, but there was the occasional one that just felt a bit too laboured to be correct.

If you’re trying to go from random gleanings of knowledge about the Psalms to some more serious study, this is a good way to get there.

‘Encountering the Psalms’ I’ve also found helpful as a starting place. (I just realised that sentence sounds too much like Yoda, hmmm?).

Ordered “How to read Psalms” (by Longman), I have. Who wrote “Encountering the Psalms”?
