Bellagio Café, Waverley

Campos Coffee. 285 Bronte Rd, Waverley. Convert a terrace house with a large yard into a café, and this is what you'll get: massive, relaxed space shaded by umbrellas. The sound of Bronte Road is somewhat muted by the fence, and the sound of old jazz drifts peacefully across the courtyard in quiet moments.

Coffee takes a long, long time to arrive, and when it does, it's hot: very hot, but everything else about it seems right. The taste is a little subdued, but the texture is right on the money.

Maybe they were too busy, but the promised water never arrived to go with my coffee.

Well worth checking out again.
